         REPORT: ROMA TO RIVAL MAN UTD & TOTTENHAM FOR £36M TARGET IN JANUARY

AS Roma are reportedly interested in signing Ajax defender Jurrien Timber, with the Netherlands international also wanted by the likes of Manchester United and Tottenham. According to Calcio Mercato, the Serie A side are keeping tabs on Timber ahead of the January transfer window, with Jose Mourinho a big fan of the Dutch ‘wonderkid’, who this summer was subject to plenty of interest from the Premier League and beyond, with United and Tottenham in the mix for the youngster.

With a reported price tag of £36m, the 21-year-old defender is one of Europe’s most exciting talents, with Timber set to travel with the Netherlands this summer for the 2022 FIFA World Cup.         PATRICE EVRA WANTS MAN UNITED TO SIGN THIS FORMER PREMIER LEAGUE STAR

According to Gianluca Di Marzio, the Red Devils are hopeful of securing a move for the Barcelona star before Thursday’s transfer deadline. New Manchester United left-back Tyrell Malacia is hoping to emulate and surpass the achievements of club legend Patrice Evra. The Dutch international talked about his quest to match Patrice Evraand also surpass him during his first interviewas a Manchester United player.


Malacia, 22, was on his way to French club Lyon before the transfer was hijacked by Manchester United this month at the request of new manager Erik Ten Hag. LUKAKU MADE A TRANSFER MISTAKE – EVRA

Ex-Manchester United and Juventus defender Patrice Evra has said that Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku made a big transfer mistake by returning to Chelsea from Inter Milan last summer. Patrice Evra made this known during an interview monitored by Italian publication Football Italia as he said that the Belgian international could have stayed at Inter after a strong season last term. Lukaku was the main man for manager Antonio Conte as Inter Milan ended their long wait for a league title last season. The Nerazzuri had gone 11 years without the Italian Serie A title before it was delivered by Lukaku and his teammates.

Patrice Evra while speaking further said that he’s not a fan of those criticising Lukaku and that they have a short memory as Lukaku was finding the back of the net regularly when he returned to Chelsea for his second spell at the club last summer. The Belgian international scored four goals in his first four games including a goal on his second Chelsea debut at the expense of Arsenal.
