EVRA ON WHAT HE THINKS ABOUT VARANE AS NEW UNITED SIGNING

A lot of people have expressed what they think about the signing of French defender Raphael Varane by English Premier League giants Manchester United and while it is still a shock to many, almost everyone is saying that the Red Devils have secured themselves a world-class defender.

United were in dire need of a top central defender who would bring a wealth of experience to the team and with Varane being one of the few available options in the market currently, manager Olé Gunnar Solskjær pounced on the opportunity to sign the Frenchman from Real Madrid while the summer transfer window is still on and open for business transactions.

Although Varane is yet to be officially unveiled as a Manchester United player, all the paperwork has been signed and the deal has already been agreed, only subject to a medical which the player is expected to undergo in the coming days. There was a little hitch about the player traveling to England as he had some problems with the issuance of his visa but after already sorting the problem, he has traveled and landed in Manchester on Thursday night and is expected to complete his medicals on Friday.

On the new signing, former Manchester United and France defender, Patrice Evra has commended his former club, saying that they have done a sensational bit of business and should be proud. Evra says he knows Varane quite well as he often watched him play for the France national team and that he is expecting the now-former Real Madrid man to improve the backline at Old Trafford and help them fight for trophies from next season.

Varane will be United’s second signing this summer after the Red Devils completed the acquisition of Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund some weeks ago.
