Patrice Evra almost made a return to Old Trafford

Patrice Evra spent 8 years performing with Manchester United and during that spell, the French player was able to lift a few major pieces of silverware including: 5 Premier League and 1 UEFA Champions League trophies just to name a few of the more well-known.

For a period of time, Evra turned into the captain of the English Premier League which shows just how much of an impact and leadership skills he had to be given the captaincy armband of a top European club.

All of these mentioned titles were obtained when Sir. Alex Ferguson was at the helm of Manchester United and even though Patrice Evra had the privilege of working alongside one of the managers who is considered to be the best in the history of the sport, the French player has recently stated that he would’ve liked to play under the tutelage of the current Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho. Patrice Evra Reveals Reasons behind Paul Pogba’s Move to Manchester United

Patrice Evra is seen as one of the players who are still loyal to Manchester United despite several years after having left the club.

After joining from Monaco back in 2006, the left back became one of the important members of Sir Alex Ferguson’s team that became hugely successful during that period. The club were able to see off the challenge from Chelsea in emphatic manner. However, the club has been unable to come even close to challenging for the major honours in the last few years. In order to elevate the club back to the top places, the club has spent a huge sum of money on several players. Yet, they are all dwarfed by the signing of Paul Pogba in the summer.

The Frenchman joined Manchester United in a deal worth around £ 89 million, which has made him the most expensive player in the world. Read more »

Patrice Evra may Switch back to Old Trafford but in Different Position

Even if Patrice Evra switches back to his old home Old Trafford, he will have a different role this time as the bosses at United want his contribution only off the field and not on it.

Evra’s coaching services have been sought by the Red Devils’ top brass, but, the Frenchman has not given a nod to it yet.

The reason Evra has not committed to this new offer on the table is the uncertainty that he is in regarding his playing career.

The veteran defender can’t quite make up his mind if it’s the right time for him to stop playing and start helping the emerging younger generation.

Even though he is comfortably past his best, he still finds himself to be chased by some clubs who want to have him as a player; West Ham for example is after him. Read more »

EVRA SENDS HEARTFELT MESSAGE TO FAMILIES OF CHAPECONSE CRASH VICIMS

Former Manchester United player Patrice Evra sent a heartfelt message to families of the 71 Chapecoense plane crash victims through a video he posted online.

The Juventus defender joined to send messages to families of the victims – an incident that has moved world football.

The incident happened on Monday, immediately plunging 71 families in grief while shocking the football world. La Mia 2933 was carrying a Brazilian football team – Chapecoense – that had enjoyed a fairy tale story in the build-up to a regional final game. The plane crashed into a mountainside after it ran out of fuel.

The 77 persons on the plane included the football team, 24 journalists, and club officials. The football team was poised to play Atletico Nacional for the Copa Sudamericana. Only six people survived the crash, but are in terrible conditions following the crash.

“Hi, I just wanted to share with all of the wives, families and children that have lost their partners in this great tragedy. So Instead of just posting a picture on my Instagram, I ask that everybody can help these families in their prayers, with their support and also financially. God bless all these men and women. Amen,” the player’s message read.

Brazil have reportedly asked that Columbia play a friendly game in a bid to raise funds for families of the crash victims. The friendly match is slated for late January, even though the date is a tight one.

“But we don’t know if they will be able to come because of the dates. But a friendly will take place, against someone else if not Columbia, probably on either January 22 or 25. The proceeds from the match will be sent to the families of the players, the staff and those involved with Chapecoense who died in the crash,” a statement about the game read.

JUVENTUS PLAYERS ADMIT TO ISSUES IN CAMP

Juventus have had one of the most successful few years in club football.

They have retained the local league in Italy – the Serie A – for years now. Despite relative problems in advancing in Europe, they have not done too badly as they reached the Champions League final in 2015.

The club added players to its ranks in a bid to consolidate on the successes. Whilst they are not doing too badly, there have been a few stumbles and the team members have admitted it.

Fullback Patrice Evra pointed out that the team was taking its time as they were gelling.

“At the end of the day, it’s the objective that counts, which is to win the Scudetto and Champions League. As [Max] Allegri said, it’s not as if we’re going to achieve that today or tomorrow.

“I do agree that our style of football can be criticized. I want to win, in a calm way and that means controlling the game. We mustn’t think ‘oh we won and that’s the most important thing,’ then go out to laugh and joke in training,” Evra said.

He admitted that the new additions would require time for the team to be a cohesive unit. Read more »

Patrice Evra Wary of Sassuolo Threat

Juventus star Patrice Evra says that he is keen on winning the Italian Serie A title this season.

The French international may have recently overcome the disappointment of being left out of the French squad for the World Cup 2018 qualifiers by focusing on his club career with Juventus. Evra has had an immensely successful career playing for the likes of Monaco, Manchester United, and now, Juventus. He has won league titles in plenty, but it seems that the veteran is not satisfied even now. After having been consistent title winners since the days of Antonio Conte, Juventus have been continuing their success under Massimiliano Allegri.

After having sealed a fifth consecutive title last season, the club are targeting more success this time around. It will be harder than ever as they have lost Paul Pogba in the centre of midfield. The French international has been a major reason towards the club’s recent successes. Juventus certainly do not have the invincibility that they enjoyed a couple of seasons ago; it is a fact demonstrated by the club’s loss against Inter Milan in the league. Ahead of the next match against Sassuolo, Evra claims that Juventus to be extremely aware of the opposition who managed to get a 1-0 win in this fixture last season.
