Geoffrey Kondogbia claims that he turned down the opportunity

Inter Milan’s major signing in the summer, Geoffrey Kondogbia, claims that he turned down the opportunity to move to the Premier league or to AC Milan in order to join Roberto Mancini’s team.

Kondogbia has signed for a mammoth transfer fee and it is a surprise that Inter have managed to sign him amidst interest from a number of other parties. One of the major factors appears to have been former Manchester United defender Patrice Evra, who had reportedly advisedKondogbia to join Inter Milan. Further, there was interest from rivals AC Milan – according to the player himself – but that was turned down even with a larger contract offer.

Both Milan clubs have struggled immensely in the last couple of years, but Inter’s situation is seen as being slightly better than that of AC Milan. Roberto Mancini failed to get the club even into the top six of the table despite massive investment in the January transfer window. He will hope to avoid the mistake of the same nature in the upcoming season. Failure to reach any form of European football would be catastrophic for the prestige of the club. Inter, however, will see the lack of Europa league football as a blessing in disguise. Read more »

Patrice Evrawants Paul Pogba to step it up

Paul Pogba continues to attract the attention of all the major clubs from around the world. Patrice Evra admits his feelings about leaving Manchester United

5 Premier League and 1 Champions League titles are just some of the major pieces of silverware that Patrice Evra secured during his time as a player of Manchester United after spending 8 years with the English club.

Patrice Evra was reaching an age where it was just too much for the Premier League outfit and Louis van Gaal wanted to replace the French defender with some younger figures, which is why Evra was offloaded to Juventus for a bargain price of €1.2 million in a transfer that was completed on July 21st of 2014.

So far it has been a successful transfer for Patrice Evra as the French defender has turned into a regular starter for MassimilianoAllegri at Juventus. During his debut season with the Italian club, Evra made 21 appearances and was also featured in the Champions League matches of his new club.

Even though Patrice Evra still continues playing at a high level with Juventus and has lifted more pieces of silverware to his closet, the experienced defender has admitted in saying that making a switch away from Old Trafford was not an easy one and he believes that leaving a club with the caliber like Manchester United, it’s always a wrong decision to make. Zlatan Ibrahimovic has been banned for four matches

PSG striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic has been banned for four matches after his comments appeared to insult French football.

The 33-year-old striker seemed to be extremely upset with the referee’s poor performance when Paris St Germain played against Bordeaux recently. He branded France as a country not worthy of playing top-level football by using derogatory terms. This cost a huge uproar in France and the disciplinary committee of the league has found the player guilty of trying to tarnish the reputation of the league. He has been given a four match ban, which will be a major blow to PSG’s hopes of retaining the league title.

The Swedish striker is one of the important players at the club. In his absence, Laurent Blanc will have to utilise Edinson Cavani as the striker but the Uruguayan has not scored the goals that have been required to keep PSG at the top of the table. Despite the season coming to a close with only a couple of weekends remaining, the French league is extremely close when it comes to the battle for the title. The top three teams are separated by only four points with PSG having recently taken control of the table with a narrow one-point advantage over Lyon. Read more »
